Epitalon Peptide
Epitalon Peptide Therapy in Ocala, FL
A peptide for sleep and healthy aging
Epitalon, also spelled epithalon, is a four-amino-acid peptide people use to support restful sleep and healthy aging. It is linked to the pineal gland, which helps set your sleep cycle. At Padgett Medical Center in Ocala, a provider builds your plan and a licensed pharmacy prepares your prescription, in person or by telehealth across Florida. Results vary.

What is Epitalon?
Epitalon is a peptide of four amino acids: alanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid and glycine (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly). It is linked to the pineal gland, and is often confused with epithalamin, a polypeptide extract of that gland studied in Russia; FDA treats the two as different substances. Studies, many from Russia, have looked at Epitalon for sleep, the body's daily rhythms and aging.
Epitalon is not FDA-approved. This is educational, not medical advice; results vary and are not guaranteed. See the important information at the end of this page.

Epitalon benefits
People use Epitalon to support restful sleep, their body's daily rhythm and healthy aging. Small studies in night-shift workers looked at its effect on melatonin and the body clock, animal studies have reported longer lifespans, and lab studies on human cells found it lengthened telomeres, the protective caps on chromosomes. Research in people is limited, so your provider tells you what to realistically expect.
How does Epitalon work?
In lab studies on human cells, Epitalon raised the activity of telomerase, the enzyme that rebuilds telomeres, and lengthened telomeres. Researchers think this may explain the longer lifespans reported in animal studies; whether it applies to people is still being studied.
Is Epitalon the same as epithalamin?
No. Epithalamin is a polypeptide complex extracted from the pineal gland, studied mainly in Russia. Epitalon is a defined four-amino-acid peptide, and FDA notes that epithalamin is not listed as another name for it. Studies of the extract do not automatically apply to Epitalon.
How is Epitalon taken?
By injection under the skin, as your provider prescribes. Animal studies gave it in short, repeated courses. Your provider gives you instructions for your exact prescription, and you never change the amount or schedule yourself.
Epitalon for sleep: what to know first
Trouble sleeping that lasts deserves a proper look, because it can come from sleep apnea, mood, medications or other conditions. Your provider looks at the cause first, and tells you whether Epitalon fits alongside it.
Epitalon side effects and safety
Its safety in people is not well studied. Injected peptides can trigger immune reactions, so your provider reviews your history first and asks you to report anything new right away.
Is Epitalon FDA-approved?
No. Epitalon is not FDA-approved for any use. Your prescription is compounded for you by a state-licensed pharmacy, which prepares it for one patient; FDA does not review compounded drugs before they reach patients. The important information at the end of this page has the details.
Can I get Epitalon legally?
Yes, with a prescription. Under a 2026 federal policy, state-licensed pharmacies can compound Epitalon for an individual patient's prescription. The route we offer is a visit with a licensed provider and, if Epitalon fits, a prescription filled by one of those pharmacies.

Epitalon questions, answered
What is Epitalon used for?+
People use it most to support restful sleep and healthy aging. Much of its research is in animals and lab cells, so results vary, and your provider tells you what to realistically expect.
Do I need a prescription for Epitalon?+
Yes. A provider reviews your health first and decides whether Epitalon fits, and a state-licensed pharmacy prepares your prescription. Products sold online without a prescription are not the same thing.
Does Epitalon lengthen telomeres?+
Lab studies on human cells have looked at that, but it has not been shown in people. No one can promise Epitalon will change how you age, and your provider explains what the research does and does not show.
How often is Epitalon taken?+
Your provider decides. Animal studies gave it in short, repeated courses rather than every day, and your prescription comes with instructions for your exact schedule.
Is Epitalon safe?+
Its safety in people is not well studied, and injected peptides can cause immune reactions. If your provider prescribes it, report anything new right away, and your provider decides whether to continue.
Can I get Epitalon by telehealth?+
Yes, a provider visit can be by telehealth anywhere in Florida while you are physically in the state. Your provider reviews your goals and history the same way as in person, and decides whether an Epitalon prescription fits.
How much does Epitalon cost?+
We will post Epitalon pricing on this page soon. Your provider explains the cost of your plan at your visit, and there are no contracts. You can also ask the medical staff on our free 15-minute phone call, which is not a provider visit.

Important information
Epitalon is not FDA-approved for any use. It is prescribed only after a visit with a licensed provider, and compounded for that patient by a state-licensed pharmacy. Compounded drugs are not reviewed by FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality before they reach patients. Pharmacies may compound Epitalon under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' enforcement discretion policy of October 30, 2026; that policy is not an FDA approval, and HHS may revisit it if a safety or quality problem arises. FDA's July 2026 review found that much of the research on Epitalon is in animals, did not identify studies of it in people with insomnia, and raised a concern about immune reactions to the injected peptide.
