For Ocklawaha patients

$169 first visit

  • With a card on file: 35% off $260.
  • Your first visit is in person in Ocala.
  • Follow-ups are $136, in person or by telehealth.

Your provider: Sarah Weir, APRN.

For new patients, the first visit is $260, or $169 when you book online with a card on file (35% off). Follow-ups are $136, the same price for everyone, whether you come in or join by telehealth. If medication becomes part of your plan, you fill it at the pharmacy you already use, and its cost is separate from the visit. The adult ADHD treatment program explains the rest.

What will Sarah Weir, APRN, ask at the first visit?

She goes through your symptoms, how long you have had them, including in childhood, and how they affect your work and home life, along with your health history, current medications and any earlier records. NIMH says adults must have shown symptoms starting before age 12, and that a provider may want to talk with people who know you well, such as a partner or family member. Treatment may include medication chosen with your provider and non-medication strategies; no diagnosis or medication is promised in advance.

What do sleep and stress numbers look like in Ocklawaha?

Both are above Marion County's figures. CDC PLACES estimates that 40.5% of Ocklawaha adults usually got less than 7 hours of sleep in a 24-hour period in 2022, against 38.9% countywide, and that 20.6% reported frequent mental distress in 2023, meaning 14 or more mentally unhealthy days in the past 30, against 16.6% for the county. Neither number says anything about ADHD rates. They matter because, as the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute notes, people short on sleep can have trouble learning, focusing and reacting.

Could something other than ADHD explain my trouble focusing?

It is possible, which is why a careful evaluation looks beyond ADHD. NIMH says a provider may ask you to report on your mood and your current and past medical conditions to rule out other explanations, and it notes that sleep problems affect up to 70% of adults with ADHD. So be ready to talk about how you sleep, how much stress you carry and what else is going on with your health. Straight answers help your provider separate ADHD from things that can look like it.

How long do Ocklawaha commutes run?

Longer than half an hour, on average. Census Bureau estimates for 2020 to 2024 put the mean travel time to work for Ocklawaha workers at about 34 minutes, and roughly 84 in 100 drive to work alone. NHLBI notes that sleep deficiency can interfere with work, school and driving, and that sleepiness behind the wheel causes serious crashes, so a short night before a long solo commute deserves attention. The evaluation adds one more drive to your week, which is why it helps to plan it.

How do I fit the in-person evaluation into a workday?

Block out about two hours. That covers roughly an hour of round-trip driving, about 17 miles each way, plus parking, check-in and the 30-minute visit. The clinic sees patients Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, so a late-morning or early-afternoon slot lets you work part of the day before or after. If you already commute toward Ocala, booking a time near your shift saves a separate trip.

Can parents work the visit around the school day?

Yes, with a midday appointment. If you have a child at Lake Weir Middle School, which serves grades 6 to 8 on SE Sunset Harbor Road, or at another nearby school, a late-morning slot in Ocala can fit between drop-off and pickup. After the first visit, follow-ups can happen by telehealth, so later appointments need only a quiet room at home rather than another trip into town.

I take classes at the College of Central Florida. Is there a student price?

There is a college student price, and it takes two things together: booking online with a card on file, and a valid college ID, which is checked at the visit. With both, your first visit is $130, 50% off instead of 35%, and the discount applies to the first visit only. CF's Ocala Campus at 3001 S.W. College Road is about 2.7 miles from our clinic by road, so a class day can double as evaluation day. See college ADHD treatment.

Can follow-ups happen from home in Ocklawaha?

Yes, as long as you are in Florida at the time of each one. Every follow-up is $136, in person or by telehealth. Pick a spot where you won't be interrupted and where your phone or computer holds a steady connection; if the signal at home is unreliable, you can come to the clinic instead. Telehealth visits across Florida explains how telehealth works at Padgett.

Does Florida law add a step before ADHD medication?

Yes. Under section 893.055 of the Florida Statutes, a prescriber or a designee must review a patient's controlled substance dispensing history in E-FORCSE, the Florida Department of Health's prescription drug monitoring program, before prescribing a controlled substance for anyone 16 or older, with narrow exceptions. That is the law, not a promise about any one visit, and same-day medication is never promised.

Is adult ADHD care available in Silver Springs Shores and Summerfield too?

Yes. Silver Springs Shores sits along the same SR 464 drive, and from there the clinic is just under 10 miles away, roughly 18 minutes; see adult ADHD treatment in Silver Springs Shores. Summerfield residents drive about 14.6 miles, roughly 23 minutes, and have their own page, adult ADHD treatment in Summerfield. Padgett also helps Ocklawaha residents with weight through personalized compounded semaglutide in Ocklawaha. When you are ready, book your first ADHD visit.

Adult ADHD questions from Ocklawaha

Can my first ADHD visit be a telehealth visit from Ocklawaha?

Not the first one. The evaluation always happens face to face at the clinic in Ocala and takes 30 minutes on a weekday. After that, follow-ups can move to telehealth from your home in Ocklawaha, or anywhere else in Florida, as long as you are in the state when each one takes place.

I work in Ocala. Can I book around my shift?

Usually. Appointments run Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, so a lunch-hour or end-of-shift slot near downtown can spare you a separate trip from Ocklawaha. Booking online costs nothing up front; a card on file holds the time, and without one, the appointment is confirmed once staff reach you by phone.

What should I bring to the evaluation?

A medication list with doses, any reports from past ADHD testing or treatment, and childhood report cards if you still have them, since NIMH says adult symptoms must have started before age 12. A parent or sibling who knew you as a child, or a partner who knows you well now, can add useful detail.
