Adult ADHD Treatment for Leesburg
Yes, though the first step means one drive to Ocala. Padgett Medical Center evaluates Leesburg adults for ADHD in a 30-minute first visit, always held in person at our clinic, about 31 miles and roughly 51 minutes away without traffic. Once that visit is done, you choose: come back in person, or handle follow-ups by telehealth from anywhere in Florida.

For Leesburg patients
$169 first visit
- With a card on file: 35% off $260.
- Your first visit is in person in Ocala.
- Follow-ups are $136, in person or by telehealth.
Your provider: Sarah Weir, APRN.
Your evaluation costs $260, or $169 (35% off) when you reserve it online with a card on file, and that price is for new patients only. Each follow-up after it is $136, the same for every patient, in the exam room or over telehealth from Leesburg. Medication, if you end up with any, is filled at your own pharmacy and paid for separately from the visit. Everything else about the program is on our adult ADHD treatment page.
How many Leesburg adults are short on sleep?
About 2 in 5. In CDC's PLACES estimates, 39.5% of Leesburg adults usually got under 7 hours of sleep a day in 2022, versus 36.6% for Lake County. For 2023, PLACES puts frequent mental distress, 14 or more days out of the last 30 when mental health was not good, at 17.9% here and 15.7% countywide. Neither number is an ADHD measure, and neither says how many people in Leesburg have ADHD.
Could short sleep be part of what you are noticing?
It could, so mention it at the evaluation. Sleep deficiency on its own can get in the way of work, school, driving and social life, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute warns, and NIMH counts sleep problems among as many as 70% of adults with ADHD. For adults from 18 to 60, CDC's guidance is 7 hours of sleep or more. Expect questions about your health history and current medicines too, because NIMH notes that providers rule out other explanations before reaching a diagnosis.
Does ADHD look the same in adults as in children?
Not always. NIMH says many people carry symptoms into adulthood but that they can shift over time, with inattention tending to hang on while hyperactivity and impulsivity are more likely to fade. Its definition is a lasting pattern of inattention, hyperactivity or impulsivity that makes it hard to function in at least two areas of life, home, school or work among them, and for adults the symptoms must date back to before age 12.
What does Sarah Weir, APRN, go over in the evaluation?
She starts with the symptoms themselves: what they are, when they began, including in childhood, and how they play out at work and at home. Then come your health history, the medicines you take today and any records from past care. NIMH points out that an adult diagnosis leans heavily on reports of past behavior, and providers may look at old school reports or other childhood records, so dig out what you can. Treatment, if any follows, can mean medication chosen together with your provider, approaches that use no medication, or both; no diagnosis and no prescription is promised ahead of time.
How should you plan your day around the Ocala visit?
Block out roughly two and a half hours. The evaluation lasts 30 minutes, the drive takes about 51 minutes in each direction with no traffic, and parking and checking in add a few more. Because appointments fall between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM on weekdays, a late-morning slot can help you miss commuter traffic and still salvage part of your workday. Save (352) 706-8733 in your phone, because that is the number your intake forms and appointment texts will come from.
Can follow-ups fit around a commute?
Yes, because after the first visit you do not have to keep driving north. Most working Leesburg residents already leave town for their jobs: in the Census Bureau's 2020 to 2024 figures, 6,372 of the city's 10,684 workers, about 6 in 10, worked outside the city, 2,763 of them outside Lake County, and the average trip to work was 26.1 minutes. A telehealth follow-up can happen from home or a private room at work anywhere in Florida, so care doesn't add another long drive to the week.
Do Lake-Sumter State College and Beacon College students get a lower price?
They can, as long as both conditions are met. Students get the first visit for $130 if they book online with a card on file and can show a valid college ID; staff look at the ID during the visit. That is 50% off rather than 35%, and it applies to the first visit only. Leesburg has two campuses where this may apply: Lake-Sumter State College's Leesburg Campus at 9501 US Highway 441, and Beacon College on East Main Street, which describes itself as the first college in the nation accredited to award bachelor's degrees exclusively to students with learning disabilities and ADHD. Our college ADHD treatment page spells out the rules.
What happens before any ADHD medication is prescribed?
Florida law adds a check. The state's statute on prescription drug monitoring, s. 893.055, requires prescribers to consult the monitoring system, known as E-FORCSE according to the Florida Department of Health, before a controlled substance is prescribed to a patient 16 or older, with a few listed exceptions. That is a rule for prescribers, not a forecast of what happens at your visit. Any medication is picked with your provider and filled at the pharmacy you use, and same-day medication is never promised.
Do Wildwood and The Villages have ADHD pages too?
They do. The clinic is about 24 miles and 38 minutes from Wildwood, which has adult ADHD treatment in Wildwood, and about 22 miles and 34 minutes from The Villages, covered by adult ADHD treatment in The Villages. Padgett also offers medical weight loss here, beginning with personalized compounded semaglutide in Leesburg. To get started, book your first ADHD visit online from Leesburg.

Adult ADHD questions from Leesburg
Is there any way to do the first ADHD visit without driving to Ocala?
No. That first appointment is always face to face at the clinic, 200 SW 8th St., Suite A, and because the evaluation itself runs 30 minutes, the drive takes longer than the visit. After it, the trips can stop: follow-ups may be done by telehealth from Leesburg on any day you are in Florida.
I stopped ADHD treatment years ago. Can I start again?
Yes, you can book a new evaluation, and your past care is useful information. Bring any records you still have, since the first visit looks at prior records along with your current symptoms and medicines. Nothing is decided beforehand; restarting ADHD treatment as an adult walks through what to expect.
Is I-75 a faster way to get to the Ocala clinic?
Not usually, but it is an option. West Main Street turns into SR 44 toward Wildwood, where it meets I-75; ride the interstate north to SR 200 in Ocala, which becomes SW 10th Street just before Pine Avenue. Our route check put it about 7 miles longer than US 27/441, with about the same time without traffic.
